Fred Michiels, an unclassifiable poet and abstract painter, is constantly modernizing his operating methods. With rhythmic loops and repetitions, he invents new forms to manage everything that is bizarre in his poetic game. Insignificant syllogisms and seemingly plausible sophisms together form a strange absurdity where there is a lot of room for self-mockery.
Michiels' paintings are represented by the Antwerp gallery Eva Steynen, his poems and pamphlets by The Office of Useless Art.
