About Ryan Ka Yau Lai (黎嘉祐, he/him)

he/him. Grad student in linguistics, UC Santa Barbara.

My research lies at the intersection of syntax, discourse analysis and grammaticalisation theory, bringing together insights from discourse-functional, corpus, cognitive and interactional linguistics. My areal focus is on East Asia and the Himalayas, especially Tibetan and Chinese varieties.
